These are my instructions on how I make my Goddess Doll
1. Cut 2 pieces of
fabric in this demo I used cotton. Cut 1 piece 8 1/2" wide by 11" long
Cut the second piece
9 1/2" wide and 11" long.
2. I then take the
piece that is 9 ½” by 11” and fold it in half length wise. Then I seam down on
the fold about 3” sew in about 5/8” or less, then back tack it. Now go down to
the bottom of the folded piece and sew up 3”, fig1
Next trim just enough
fabric off to open the folded area. fig.2, fig2A, fig.3
I put my hand through
the opening so you can see what has to be left open.

3. Now you are going
to open up the piece you seamed and press it so that the seam is presses to one
side.
Fig.4

3. Know you are ready
to put together your front and back pieces of fabric, right sides together.
Front on the bottom seamed piece on top. fig.7

Okay we have our fabric sandwich. Now you want
the seamed piece of fabric (the back) facing up.
Now you are going to
trace your pattern onto freezer paper, then cut it out.
Next you are going to
lay the pattern onto your fabric trying to line up the center of the pattern
onto the seam you sewed. Fig.8

Next you want to iron
your pattern onto the fabric it will stick to the fabric like glue, but peels
right off.

Fig. 10, shows you it sticks really well, Now
it is time to sew around your pattern, my camera isn’t close to my machine so I
will have to tell you how to do it, I set my stitch length at 1.3 on my machine
and I sew right at the edge of the pattern.
Fig.11 and fig.12

Fig.
12 through 12B shows you the outline of the doll after it is stitched, I
am holding up the paper pattern
4. Now it’s time to
cut her out and turn her.
Fig. 13 through 16 shows what I did.

Once
turned then you want to press it real good.

Now it is time to
stuff your doll, you can stuff it with fiber fill stuffing or use quilt
batting, (my preference, because I mount my dolls onto to fabric covered board
after they are done. Fig.17
5.
next
you want to cut out the dolls shape, but you want to cut inside the line a
little, in order for it to fit nicely. Fig.18 and 18A

6. Now we stuff the
doll, her is how I do mine using quilt batting, if you have hemostats, it sure
makes it easier fig.19 through fig.20

Well that is how I
make my dolls, now all that is left is to close the back of the doll, I use the ladder stitch, because it makes the seam
close neatly. Now you can bead her, then she is done.
I sure hope everyone
was able to follow my instructions okay, and if you have any questions please
